Description

Dutton Garage, for the first time, is very proud to present this stunning 1969 Mazda Luce RX 87 R130, Finished in Mazda Silky White, Highlighted by Period Factory Steel Wheels and Polished Mazda Hub Caps, with a Soft Luscious Red Cabin, and Matching Carpets, a very desirable colour combination for an RX 87!

This example has recently been uplifted from a private collection in Japan and has been inspected, complied, and registered for New Zealand roads.

The Mazda Luce (Pronounced Ru-Che ) RX87 R130 was the Rotary release of the Luce 1500/1800 models (M13P) and was manufactured from 1969 until 1971 and was only available in a Coupe. It was also the only Front Wheel Drive Rotary to ever be released!

The Luce was a designed by the famous Giorgio Giugiaro, he still worked for Bertone at the time, which is obvious to see in this beautifully styled coupe with headlights that tuck neatly into the front bumper and graceful lines making this stand as one of Mazda’s most aesthetic body releases.

The RX 87 R130 was only released to the JDM market with production figures reaching around 976 over the 3 year production period. It is believed that only 200 remain today, making this an extremely rare Rotary!

Only available in 2 colour choices, White and Yellow, this unrestored White example was recently imported from Japan and has been meticulously maintained.

The very special 13A rotary fires into life first go and has the distinctive rotary exhaust brap with excellent performance.

In original condition this is an extremely rare vehicle, with under 200 known left to exist, making it a more exclusive vehicle than the Cosmo coupe of the same era. This is a rare opportunity to buy the most unique Mazda rotary produced, that also has the following highly desirable features/options:

- Uplifted from a Private Collection in Japan
- Finished in Mazda Silky White
- Highlighted by Period Factory Steel Wheels and Polished Mazda Hub Caps
- Soft Luscious Red Cabin with Matching Carpets
- 1310cc 13A Rotary Engine
- 4 Speed Gearbox
