This 1967 Hino Contessa 1300S is styled by an Italian (Michelotti), looks like a Corvair, and raced by the Cobra designer Peter Brock. This is the odd, yet wonderfull story of the Hino Contessa 1300S.
This Contessa was owned by a local Japan Hino dealer until the Hino factory obtained ownership themselves and took upon refreshing this example to a very presentable standard.
The car was then paraded around Hino dealerships in Japan, and at many car shows, where it won multiple awards. The car was then parked up in a Japanese transport museum to which it was purchased and brought to New Zealand. Accompanied by the factory 1300 display plates, Hino Contessa factory dealer information board, and original owners/workshop manual. This is an opportunity not to be missed!
This rare Hino Contessa posses the following features:
Factory 1300cc Rear Mounted Engine
Rare Factory Removable Head Rest Options Stamped “SSS”
Factory 1300 Display Plates
Factory Refreshed By Hino
Hino Contessa Factory Dealer Information Board
Factory Original Ownership/Workshop Manual
This Contessa has NO modifications at all, and is Period Correct Factory.
