LE MANS AND YAKUZA
Just like a James Bond movie chassis AMC/49/3's recent history is as intense as the day it raced at Le Mans.
Chassis AMC/49/3s was acquired by Mr Colin Gordon for New Zealand in the early 1990s.
In 1994 Gordon made the decision to advertise his beloved DB1 too soon after believing he had sold the DB1 to a wealthy Japanese collector, to only find himself having his vehicle stolen off the wharf in Japan by the Yakuza boss.
Staunch Kiwi Mr Colin Gordon took the matter into his own hands flying to Japan to find himself staring into the eyes of said Yakuza boss.
Gordon battled courts alongside Japanese gangsters for years until he again regained possession of the DB1 in 2007.
We are proud to offer the last surviving, most original example of the very rare 13 built DB1 Le Mans racers is on the market.
Still maintaining its original Le Mans documentation and Le Mans plate on the dash, our DB1 is an opportunity for the most astute collector.
A complete history file accompanies the car.
