1962 Maicoletta 249cc Scooter
The Maicoletta was a motor scooter built by Maico from 1955 to 1966. It was noted by motorcycle journalists in the United States and the United Kingdom for being powerful, responsive, and comfortable. It was one of the heaviest and most expensive motor scooters with typical styling and engineering of its time, and comparable to other manufacturers' products such as Heinkel Tourist, Zndapp Bella and the British Triumph Tigress and BSA Sunbeam.
This example was brought to New Zealand from the UK in 2006 and has had 2 owners, the last of which has had it as part of a private collection for 10 years. It has only travelled 600 odd miles in that time which has been sufficient to keep it in great mechanical order.
This scooter is in excellent condition all round and is very complete other than the odd little moulding here and there. It is a super rare find in any condition, let alone like this. It will be delivered with a new WOF and registration making it all ready to hit the road or to go into another collection as an appreciating asset.
