Aston Martins have always been at the forefront of many distinguished automotive enthusiasts collections, with iconic shapes that are permanently etched into our minds. The popular first generation Vanquish S is no exception, having been designed by the highly regarded Marek Reichman & Ian Callum.
The Vanquish was the replacement for the supercharged V8 Vantage, an impressive if archaic car whose underpinnings dated back to DBS of the late 1960s. In contrast, the Vanquish was extremely contemporary. The styling bore obviously influence from the elegant, beautiful and now rather desirable DB7, but had a more aggressive and modern stance. A Vanquish S sits as a significant model in any line-up, and this particular example is no exception, having been part of a very important Aston Martin collection in Europe. This particular car is a low mileage 2+2 example that has been fastidiously maintained.
Finished in the ultimate colour combination of Jet Black Metallic with 2-tone Black and Red interior, the car is in excellent cosmetic condition. The paintwork is in very good shape, All four wheels are in excellent condition and wear nearly new tyres.
Clearly cherished whilst in a very exquisite and marque focused collection, The interior remains in beautiful order. There is extensive leather upholstery, which is in superb condition, with only minor wear to the seats. The leather dashboard is in excellent shape and unmarked, as are the leather door trims, centre console, and rear seats, which appear scarcely used.
The car runs and drives very well, making an absolutely fantastic exhaust noise. The car is powerful, sure-footed and easy to drive and use while still feeling special and unique. It is an effortless high speed tourer that is sure to satisfy any James Bond fantasies that its new owner may have (at least those related to Aston Martins), particularly since a Vanquish was used in the Bond film ‘Die Another Day.’
The 5.9 Litre V12 platform that the Vanquish S uses is quite simply an astonishing feat of engineering, sitting in the position of Aston Martins fastest ever production car (in 2006) with a top speed in excess of 200mph. Specified with the modern ASM system, the drive is exciting and engaging, a sensational sound emits from the smooth V12!
