Driven to third place 1988 Le Mans by John Winter, Frank Jelinski and Stanley Dickens. The car had wins and many placings in the 1987-88 sports car championship series. Porsche debuted the 962C at the 1984 24hrs Daytona and was driven by Michael and Mario Andretti. For the 1985-86 series the 962C would win the world Sports Car Championship, the IMSA GT Championship, the IMSA GT Championship from ‘85-‘88, the Interserie Championship ‘85-‘89 and also go on to win 24 Le Mans ‘86-‘87.
In the end it was the most successful sports racer of all time.
