Description

The Ferrari 365GTB/4 was the replacement for the 275GTB/4, but was universally known as the ‘Daytona’ in recognition of Ferrari's 1,2,3 victory in the 1967 Daytona 24 hour race.

Pininfarina designer Leonardo Fioravanti styled the car, which was built by Scaglietti from 1968 to 1973. It is considered a design triumph, and Ferrari's last significant V12 powered front engine two seat sports car from the Enzo era. Considering the Daytona was the flagship of the Ferrari range, only around 1400 were built, making good examples very hard to find today and extremely sought after.

The stunning example we have available was delivered new by Maranello Concessionaires in October 1973. Maranello lists the car as the last Right Hand Drive Daytona ever delivered to the UK and therefore, one of the last few RHD cars ever made.

It came to Australia with an emigrating owner with extremely low miles in 1977, and has had sympathetic ownership since, with a high quality repaint in its original colour undertaken in 1996 where it was noted that no restoration was needed and no accident damage was apparent. A complete engine rebuild was also commissioned in 2001 at 20,000 miles.

Today the car is still in outstanding original condition having only travelled 43,000 miles. It is complete with original service books, spare keys, delivery documentation, a large history file, documented ownership history and tool roll.

Resplendent in period Rosso Bordeaux Dino with beige leather and carpets, the car retains matching numbers and would provide the perfect cornerstone to any serious Ferrari collection.
