Description

‘Normally you cannot drive a sports car every day because of all the uncomfortable things that come with it. This car you can because the fundamental concept is a car to be enjoyed and driven around in any conditions.’ Artyon Senna

The NSX was Honda's first attempt to create a car that could compete with high-end sports cars like the Ferrari 348, but with the reliability and practicality that Honda’s were known for.

Development of the NSX began in the late 1980s, with Honda's goal being to create a car that could challenge established sports car manufacturers. The project was led by a team of engineers that included Shigeru Uehara, who had previously worked on Honda's Formula One racing program.

It featured a lightweight aluminum body and chassis, a first for a production car, advanced suspension technology, including a double-wishbone design that provided exceptional handling and stability and a mid-mounted natural aspirated 3.0-litre V6 engine that produced 255 horsepower, thanks to Hondas Variable Value Timing Technology - V-TEC.

The car we have here is a series 1 NSX-T finished in Midnight Purple with a Beige leather interior. Delivered new in 1998 to Springwood Honda, QLD the car has been meticulously looked after by its few custodians and is accompanied by its original service books and documentation.

Paintwork is always a place you can pick up on how a car has been looked after and this won’t disappoint. The Midnight Purple is in excellent condition, still a bright and rich metallic. While the interior has no signs of excessive wear on the tan leather. The factory air conditioning, stereo and electric seats are all working properly.

Receipts and service documentation go all the way back to 1999, with the last service being carried out October 2022.

The NSX has been praised for its exceptional performance, reliability, and practicality. It has become an iconic sports car that is highly regarded by enthusiasts and automotive critics alike. Examples like this Australian delivered, well maintained, rare colour car are becoming harder to find.
