Description

After first appearing in the 2000 remake of the movie ‘Gone in Sixty Seconds’, The Shelby Mustang GT500 'Eleanor' has become an icon among car enthusiasts. The origins of 'Eleanor’ can be traced back to the 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500, first designed by Carroll Shelby himself.

The design of the movie car was created by Hot Rod illustrator Steve Stanford and made a reality by custom car designer Chip Foose. Fitted with a number of custom features, including a nitrous oxide system, a roll cage, modern dash and a custom body.

This 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback has been transformed to become a truly outstanding tribute and turn key example of that hero car from the Hollywood blockbuster.

A genuine 1967 Fastback, the Mustang came off the production line at Ford’s Dearborn, Michigan factory with the transformation to the ‘Eleanor’ tribute you see today being completed in 2021.

On opening the bonnet, you are greeted by a 390 FE (6.4-litre - Big Block) the modifications of which include;

· Flat Top Pistons

· Cam Upgrade

· Twin Edelbrock Quad Carburettors

· Edelbrock Twin Carb Manifold

· Edelbrock Rocker Covers

· Electric Distributor

· Tremec Gearbox

· 8 ¾ Differential, 3/1 Ratio LSD

· Custom Extractors

· Engine Strut Bracing

The exterior presents in superb condition, with correct Pepper Grey metallic paint complemented by black metallic stripes. The brightwork is in wonderful condition with the trims, bumpers, and badges sitting flush on the straight and smooth bodywork. Its body kit is a faithful recreation, with the Shelby-style front bumper, deep side skirts, side exit exhausts, power bulge bonnet, and the twin spot lamps in the lower grille.

Riding on a set of correct 17-inch ‘Eleanor’ wheels, housing disc brakes front and rear. The whole body is now sitting on Koni Adjustable Shocks.

The interior of the vehicle is in exceptional condition and was part of the full rebuild of the vehicle. Featuring new sports seats, trimmed in black leather. A modern dashboard was installed, wood-rimmed steering wheel and the iconic ‘Go Baby Go’ button on the shifter.

The car has travelled less than 2,000 miles since the build.

This 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback is a superb replica of the Shelby GT500 ‘Eleanor’ vehicle featured so prominently in the cult classic film. Benefitting from a full bumper to bumper transformation, the Mustang presents incredibly well with correct additions and excellent attention to detail throughout. Cars like this don’t come onto the market very often.
