Even though it’s more than 45 years since the Countach design study first made its debut and with a whole raft of supercars appearing in the meantime, nothing has dulled the impact of perhaps the most astonishing car design ever.

The legendary Miura was always going to be a hard act to follow, so the extent to which its successor eclipsed the greatest of 1960s supercars came as something of a shock to all. The sensation of the 1971 Geneva Salon, the Countach was styled, like its predecessor, by Bertone’s Marcello Gandini. A production version would not be seen for another two years, with deliveries commencing in 1974.

Our Lamborhini Countach 5000 S is 1 of just 321 examples built in total, of which only 296 were left-hand drive. With its 4,752cc, V12 engine the driving experience is phenomenal, an experience one would expect from the iconic Countach design.

Our car has travelled a mere 37,600 miles from new and comes with a fabulous service history that reflects its superb overall condition. The Countach was last serviced by Lamborghini St. Gallen on 07/07/2017.

This particular example was sold new in Geneva, Switzerland. The previous owners have maintained an interesting ownership log, to place the car in Switzerland from 1984 until 2017. Over the course of its life the has participated in numerous Lamborghini events including Lamborghinis Grande Giro 50th anniversary.

Ferruccio Lamborghini himself has signed this car, situated behind the drivers seat and protected from UV light by a specially made leather cover, a welcome addition to an already exceptional example.

Accompanying the car is an original Lamborghini book pack with stamped service book as well as numerous invoices detailing works carried out.
