Sir William Lyons envisaged the XK twin cam engine would power saloon cars, not racing cars, though he did appreciate marketing benefits from “Win on Sunday, sell on Monday”. After the legendary C-Type’s victory at Le Mans in 1951, the production lines were kept busy producing MKVII and XK120’s for eager customers.

Though astounding racing cars, an original C-Type on the road is a hot, cramped and choppy ride. This recreation by Nostalgia cars faithfully replicates Malcolm Sayer’s aerodynamic body, though a larger cockpit, 5-speeds, independent suspension and disc brakes overcome the original’s shortcomings. With a gutsy 4.2 litre engine and vestigial aero-screens, this is a proper wind in the hair, flies in the teeth ’50’s’ sports car for the present day.

Finished in quintessential Racing Green with painted wire wheels, this is a marvellous car to behold. Inside, the car has beautiful Green hide seats and gearbox facia tunnel which complement the exterior body wonderfully and its wooden rimmed steering wheel adds that extra touch of class.
